In response to the questions in your post, it is important where a candidate stands on health care, but there are other issues (for me) that are non-negotiable that would cause me to vote one way or another. Also, I truly believe that health care won’t be fixed until we get a congress and a president willing to do it. So like Christina, I manage my expectations on almost all the issues and vote for who I feel will do the best job.

It’s important to me if a candidate is concerned about preventing and managing chronic illnesses. It’s unlikely any candidate can deliver on all his promises, but it’s important for me to know what his intention is, that he is at least trying to implement something to make coverage available to people with ci’s. But I’m prepared in advance to “manage expectations” as to how much of that idealistic plan can actually happen.
