Ellen (not her real name) is looking at surgery, post op and return to work and trying to figure out. She asked me, “With my own tension and lost time here, what can I do so I don’t crash at work?” Ahh, a coaching moment….

man-woman-with-briefcase.jpgIntention: determination to act in a certain way. Ellen used the words, “… acting with will”.

Since you can’t control your health (although you might find that you can influence it), the only thing you can control is your ability to set your mind to be a certain way and base your actions on that idea. Here are 3 things to think about:

1. What do you want to come from this– also called your desired outcomes?

2. What behavior will support that?

3. What can you do to support your behavior?
